Statement of Faith

We believe that God is one — numerically one person, the Father. He alone is the Most High God, the Creator and Sustainer of all things. He has no equals, no divine council of co-equal persons, and no ontological division within Himself.

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one." Deuteronomy 6:4

Jesus himself affirmed this Shema when asked which commandment is greatest (Mark 12:28–30). The Father is the "only true God" (John 17:3) and the one from whom all things come (1 Corinthians 8:6). The Spirit of God is the power and presence of the Father, not a separate divine person.

We believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the Messiah — God's anointed King — who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless human life, died for our sins, and was raised bodily from the dead. He was not God incarnate in the Trinitarian sense, but a genuine human being who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit.

"For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." 1 Timothy 2:5

Through his resurrection and exaltation, Jesus has been given all authority in heaven and on earth and now sits at the right hand of God as Lord of all. His humanity is not diminished by his exaltation — he remains our high priest, our mediator, and the firstborn among many brothers.

We believe that the Kingdom of God is the central theme of Jesus's preaching and the goal of human history. It is not a spiritual realm in heaven, but the literal reign of God on a renewed earth — inaugurated through Christ's resurrection and to be fully established at his return.

"Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth." Matthew 5:5

The hope of the believer is not to go to heaven at death, but to be resurrected at the last day to live under the Messiah's reign in the age to come. This is the consistent testimony of the Hebrew prophets, Jesus, and the apostles.

We believe that human beings are mortal — they do not possess an immortal soul that survives death. Death is real sleep, and the only hope for the dead is the resurrection at the return of Christ. Eternal life is a gift from God through the Messiah, not an inherent property of the human person.

"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23

This biblical anthropology rules out both the immortality of the soul (Plato) and hell as a place of conscious eternal torment. The resurrection of the dead — both the just and the unjust — is the great hope of the age to come.

We believe that the 66 books of the Bible — the Hebrew and Greek Scriptures — are the inspired Word of God and the sole authority for all matters of faith and practice. Creeds, councils, and traditions have no binding authority except insofar as they accurately reflect Scripture.

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness." 2 Timothy 3:16

We read Scripture in its plain, grammatical, historical sense — in its original Jewish and Messianic context. We do not impose later Hellenistic philosophical frameworks onto the text. We follow the Reformation principle: Scripture interprets Scripture.
